Rewriting Reactivity With The CDD Method
A live CDD learning month for guardians and professionals. Learn how to use the CDD method to start overcoming reactivity, helping dogs feel safer, regulate their emotions and respond with greater confidence.
Reward-based training can help many dogs, but offering a treat doesn’t automatically resolve the fear, frustration or uncertainty behind a reaction. A dog can learn what to do while still struggling with how they feel.
CDD offers an ethical, relationship-led way of teaching dogs through communication, understanding and meaningful choice. We focus on helping dogs make sense of their experiences, feel safer and develop greater emotional regulation, so they can begin responding differently.

Understand what is driving reactivity, recognise what your dog is communicating, and feel clearer about how to help.
This live CDD learning month brings guardians and professionals together to explore how we can help dogs feel safer, regulate their emotions and begin responding differently. Through in-depth teaching, real-life video breakdowns and shared learning, we’ll connect the CDD method with the everyday situations you need help understanding.
Your learning begins before the live month, giving you time to start putting CDD into practice and bring your own experiences into our time together.
What’s included?
Preparatory content to help you get started. In the weeks leading up to the event, you’ll have access to learning content that introduces the CDD method and helps you begin implementing it. This gives you time to observe, explore and start recognising the questions that come up when you apply what you’re learning.
Three in-depth live sessions, each lasting 90 minutes to two hours. Together, we’ll take a detailed look at reactivity and how to support change through communication, emotional regulation and understanding the individual dog. All three sessions will be recorded, so you can catch up or revisit the teaching at your own pace.
A series of real-life CDD video breakdowns. You’ll be encouraged to capture footage of your experiences in the weeks beforehand and submit it ahead of the live week. I’ll use submitted footage to create edited video breakdowns with my explanations and guidance throughout. We’ll look closely at body language, what a dog may be communicating, the language we can use and how we might respond to support them. You’ll see CDD in action and learn from different dogs, relationships and situations, helping you recognise how the learning applies to your own circumstances.
A student group for questions, connection and shared progress. Introduce yourself, share what you’re exploring, ask questions and discuss the difficulties that arise along the way. Your observations and experiences can help someone else recognise something in their own dog, just as theirs may bring something into focus for you.
We’ll spend time with the details that can make a difference: a subtle change in body language, the timing of our communication, an opportunity to offer space or a moment when a dog begins to understand.
Come away with a deeper understanding of reactivity, greater confidence in your communication and clearer next steps for supporting your own dog or the dogs and guardians you work with.
